I took a few years of ballroom(salsa, rumba, tango, waltz, 2step, ect...) dance lessons from Fred Astaire dance studio and i've noticed that you can use the dances they teach you there to any type of music out there. The girls love being twirled around and dipped and shown off like that as well. I just am working on how to talk to them, without being too shy, after grabbing them by the hand and taking them to the dance floor as an opener.

Dancing is good for demonstrating high value.....if you're good at dancing. But, like it was said earlier, keep in mind that dance game is different from normal game.

If you're not good, thats ok, just try to keep your game off the dance floor.

If you're bad, dancing will demonstrate low value and should be avoided like the plague.

Learn the dance style that is congruent with the kind of places you like to go. I recommend taking lessons.

sometimes the attention goes mostly to the guy who cant dance at all but thinks fuck it and dances like a complete goof, mocking himself - rather than the urban street dancer. it shows more confidence than him, even if its not as much skill

Yeah that sometimes works...if the people you're trying to impress can't dance.

If they can dance, your suckiness will only be cute for about 5 minutes before it starts lowering your value. On the other hand, if you actually have some basic dance skills under your belt, then girls will appreciate and be able to laugh WITH YOU as you try and struggle through new moves.

Girls don't expect you to be a good dancer, they just want to see that you are competent enough that they can dance with you and it not be awkward.

This thread was pretty much done with this:
Quote:
. . .be the alpha guy who doesn't care if he's not the best dancer, you are there to have some fun!
Whether you're a dancing fiend or fool, that can be an automatic opener. People are going to have different opinions of how well anyone dances, and if they don't like it and decide to tell you about it then you've just struck up an impromptu set.
