Derren Brown is, for less of a better word, a freaking genius. He is a master of NLP and believe it or not, he is totally, 100% gay.
As for this I think I have kinda worked out how he gets it. The first 2 are just basic cold reads, lots of girls are big on star signs and the sense of humor is an obvious one, but when he is talking to the first two girls (inparticular the very first one) he is actually "grooming" the last one. Notice how he says "hear me say the line" and "imagine i'm the one walking up to you at a party" and all those things. Even though he is saying it directly to her, I think because he paid special attention to the other girl originally her subconcious is possibly more tuned into what he's saying and is picking up on this slight messages he's putting across. Then when he eventually comes back to her he says "hear me say the line" again as he locks eyes and does another cold read about eye contact (which as we all know is important) then, if i guess right, it doesn't really matter what he says, she'll interpret that as what she actually wanted to hear.

I could be way off the bat here as I'm not a big practitioner of NLP by any means (maybe 1 line every now and again if I really think hard about it lol) but this is just what I'm getting from what I can see and hear in the video.

Derren Brown is not a master in NLP. He isn't a big fan of it either. According to Brown, the only NLP techniques that should get attention are the techniques from Bandler in the early NLP days.

Btw, his book 'tricks of the mind' is one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a while. It's great if you want to learn more about Derren Brown, and also if you're interested in memory skills, basic magic skills, confidence skills, hypnosis. He also covers religion and pseudo-science in one of his chapters.

These girls aren't feeling direct attraction for this guy? Because in fact he might be bring some emotions to her but it's not enough, what do you think? And you can also think that his trying to impress them...

Let me let you in on something, the girl Philafa (mispelled I know), was actually announcing the fashion show (you can catch a glimpse of it in the beginnning of the vid).

Derren took a strong emotion that these women felt at a sub-conscious level, and equated that feeling, that urge, and associated it with himself; I think NLP calls this anchoring.

I was a little skeptical myself until I SAW Philafa's REACTION. I KNOW women, and that was attraction. I am not saying I know how Derren did this, or even if it really happen. I just know if D wasn't gay he would've fucked Philafa until she came like the very notion of human existence depended on it.

Srry about that but for some of these points, I'm not completely convinced. For instance you I think anchoring is not something that can happen after you associate something ONCE, I think you have to do it a multiple times. So personnally I'm not sure he would have fucked her if he wasn't gay. Let me know your opinion
