whats the difference between the way a PUA and a AFC picks-up? what would they do differently.
SPAM, im an AFC and hating it

im going to generalize so dont take it to the heart if im wrong

but this is mainly the difference

AFC: hey cutie, you are looking good, can i buy you a drink?
hb: hey yeah sure, i want (whatever), say why dont you buy one for my friend....
hb:thanks(walks away)


PUA: (set myself to the side of set)....jeez, what does somebody have to do to get some service around here?
PUA:(turn head to set): how long have you guys been waiting, because i definately should make some plans to sleep here by the time i get a drink

last week i opened a set i think ( still in AFC phase):
im waiting at the bus stop bored out of my mind (going home after classes finished for the day) until i see a cute chick waiting at the same bus stop as mine.
ME:(noticing she has a backpack) oh so you coming from a school (i guess was one of my AFC lines)
HB: yeah, it's been a long day.
we go into one a long convo about how silly school can be sometimes
HB: ahhh, you're reading Hamlet (i actually forgot i had this book in my hand, i guess the book was a DHV)
talk about the book, blah,blah,blah
*bus comes, both of us gets on, talks some more on bus*
waves goodbye as she gets off (she gets off a few stops before mine)

sigh, if only i knew about this community earlier, could've checked for IOIs and maybe get her number

not sure if i did good or not. hoping to see her again, i hope i don't get the 'LGBF' if i see her again

not bad... Id recomend reading up a lot of mystery method and the game. I studied up all the material i could get my hands on when i just started. It will give ya the best definition for the difference and i think most of the guys here would agree. Basically, you want to open and give a good seed for conversation. Avoid something too specific and yes no type of question. Also avoid anything that indicates you are hitting on your target it will scare her away imediately. After that its all about dhv, being different and being interesting... Hope that vague explanation helps I little...

In a nutshell

AFC
1. Doesn't get girl (if he did, he got lucky)
2. Comes off needy
3. Talks like he's always "wanting" something (usually sex)
4. Very attached to the outcome

PUA
1. Get's the girl (When he does, she got lucky)
2. Independent. Has an air of confidence
3. Socializes. Gives without the thought of receiving
4. Indifferent to the outcome.

nope, works LIKE A CHARM. I've opened countless
sets with that opener. It's great.

Only use it on HB 9+, 'cause the others probably
don't have such a high social value. So if you say
it to a person with a high social value, it'll be like
she's never heard that about her before.

Now that you've said it about her, she'll want to know
WHY she sucks.
