Girls will give their number to anyone with a pulse. You have to actually make a mistake to NOT get a number (e.g., failure to get a # means you did something wrong, getting a # doesn't mean you did something right).
Another thing -- everyone gets a little flaking. Even the best PUAs in the world don't get a day 2 from every phone number they get. Let's say, the best PUAs in the world get 2 'day 2s' for every 3 phone numbers. The trick is to just get more and more numbers, so you have more and more chances to get that 2 out of 3 to work in your favor.
Finally, you can lower your flake rate (flaking = phone #'s that go nowhere) by using a timebridge instead of a standard phone number close. You basically set up your next meeting while their energy and buying temperature are high, instead of setting things up days later after all the work you have done attracting is in her not-nearly-as-vivid long term memory.
If women are losing interest after 5-10 minutes, you need to take a look at your material. If you're not using material, perhaps you should consider using some. 5-10 minutes is one medium-length story for me, what about you?
