Yes, this works.
The AFC way to deal with this: An AFC will try to "get in the way" of what his competition is doing (i.e., repeatedly positioning yourself in between him and her, insulting him,
talking to the girl about him negatively behind his back, etc...). That telegraphs interest in the girl! You may get in the way of your competition, but you will destroy your own value in the process.
The PUA way to deal with this: A PUA will either out-alpha the competition, or jokingly set unreasonable expectations in the girl's mind for the competition's behavior. It's pretty funny what AFCs will do to impress a girl, and it will all lower their value in the process.
Recently I've been suggesting that the AFC competition should buy us all a round of drinks. If this is done at the right time, they will always say yes -- you have to pump their buying temperature just like with girls (i.e., tell them to get the drinks while they're laughing at a joke you just told). Then *I* give a toast and gain value from their $50, while they're buying shit for women and lowering their own value. The trick is to lower the AFC's value without lowering your own.
"You guys are like an old married couple" is a great line too. Be prepared for a follow up question.
