So...I've never used any of these theories before but after reading The Game (probably like so many others) and then finding this site, I decided to put some basic knowledge into practice.

I was chilling in a club with about 6 friends, just dancing and having a laugh and I spot this girl at the front near the DJ. Shes obviously very confident in her self, and I see a few guys going up to her and preforming the usual drill. First thing i thought was....neg. So I walked up and it went roughly like this.... (not word for word):

me:you blatently need someone to teach you how to dance,your moves are pretty weak...
HB8:(laughs) well are you going to teach me?
me: well you just missed your chance, im done now, maybe another time if your lucky...
hb8: (some crap, starts asking me where I am from etc general banter which i took as an IOI)
me:i like your dress, i saw a girl with that on before i came here
her:oh yeh blah (some shit about her ass being big,she blatently knew it was good. FIRST BAD POINT. i should have said, oh i usually go for thinner girls my self etc to throw her off)
*guy walks over to her who was talking to her before*
me:well, im gonna go find my friends ill leave you and your boyfriend to it, catch you later
hb8: what, why? ok...


......


20 mins later.

me: hey, were gonna play a game come sit with me over there. (by this point kino was in full play)
hb8:haha ok
me:(insert five questions routine, which I mess up because i had a bit to drink and my memory went tits)
hb8:oh well im smarter than i look, are you going to reflex (a local night) tommorow?
me:urmm maybe...well i tell you what ill meet you there and owe you that drink?
hb8:ok sounds like a plan!


at this point i get her number, and i cant remember the convo, she then says do i want sex from her, because if i do then i wont get it or something. so im like, im offended stop stereotyping me with all the other guys etc. and i jokingly i say, no no i dont do that, i just want to be friends and read stories in bed thats all.
i say do you want to kiss me? mistake because i had no good answers if she said no, but she said i dont kiss strangers

cant remember what was said then, but i told her id see her tommorow and walked off to my friends and then left without looking at her.

so that was last night, and ive not sent her my number yet.

major problems with my first attempt were that:
she didnt ask my name, i messed up on a kiss close, and i think i needed more material. is it important she didnt ask for my number?

in conclusion i feel positive about my first attempt as its gone better than any other attempt ive ever had in my life.

Your major problem is that you got drunk.

Neil Strauss wrote in his book (The Game) that Mystery never drinks when he is out for sarging.
Don't drink!!! Drink a little (one drink per night is maximum) in your first attempts so you can feel more relaxed.
When you feel more confortable with sarging don't drink at all!

I know they used it in the show but my favorite is if they say no to the kiss play it off like you weren't saying they could. I think the line he gives in the show was

PUA: "Do you want to kiss me?"
Target: "NO, I don't kiss strangers!"
PUA: "I didn't say you could, it just looked like you had something on your mind."

I wouldn't use that line directly but make it fit the situation and the style your playing. As for the drinking it's hard to go out and NOT drink least for me but I've had to change my habits b/c I've had much better luck with it when I can think straight. It sounds like you did a pretty good job and did a pretty good job passing her shit test when she asked you if you wanted to sleep with her as long as you used it in sarcasm. I think if you would have had a good enough line after the second test (don't kiss strangers) then you would have k-closed. You got her # and a day 2 already planned so you won't be strangers next time.
