From reading some of these posts I've noticed there's a lot of people that are trying to get the approval of their fellow PUA's. They're like, "Would this be a good opener?" or "What do I do if she says this?"
The ones that are asking these questions are obviously not spending enough time in the field. When I come up with a new opener, I field test it on at least five different sets before I decide for myself if it's good or not. To be honest, most of the openers that work the best are the ones that I originally thought would be shit. You see? I'm not a girl so I don't know how they will resopond.
If you come up with an opener and it sucks, then dump it. You'll find out a lot easier that way then trying to get a biased opinion from a bunch of dudes.
The game is just that. It's a game. Like playing Mario Bros. If you try jumping on top of one of the spikey shelled turtles and you die, you now know not to do that anymore. So you have to adjust your strategy and figure something else out.
There's no such thing as the perfect approach. A lot of newbies think that if they read every post and every book and watch every video then they'll instantly become a master and have no approach anxiety what so ever. That's not the case at all. It takes months and years of practice. And yes, failure is part of that. Accept it but don't give up.
Also, there seems to be a lot of concern about girls already hearing one of the canned openers or routines and blowing you out of the water. That's why I highly recomend comming up with your own materal. That means field testing it. It's the concepts that make these strategies work, not the specific routines themselves. You can tell whatever story or do whatever routine you'd like, just so long as you DHV and don't telegraph interest.
I try to make my openers relevant to the current situation. For example: If I'm in a book store my opener may be, "Excuse me, can you recomend a book that my nine year old niece might like?"
That way it eraticates the chance of her saying something like, "Yeah yeah, I've hear that bit on VH1 last week."
So, be original but stick to the basic concepts. The more you play the better you'll get.

Anyways good point, since Mystery himself says that you need to find your own type of personality that would emanate in your routines. Mystery happened to be a magician, Style happened to be an educated writer, and Tyler Durden Happened to be a Public Speaker, David Deangelo happened to be sort of comedian.
