This works awesome at colleges because most girls have digital cameras and figure a guy asking them about cameras is some a/v geek and not hitting on them.

Guy:Can I ask you a question?
Girl:Sure.
Guy:How well does your camera work________(fill in the blank with outside, inside, low light etc....) The reason I ask is my friends and I are planning this incredible trip to________(insert exotic locale) and we don't want to have to worry about our cameras fucking up.

from here you can talk about either your trip or the camera, you can even neg the target when she tries to show you her camera by saying it looks kinda cheap or flimsy.
