From what I've read and heard, girls go there to not get hit or stared at by guys constantly in the lower end gyms. Anyways on to what I was trying to get, it's kinda relevant to what I'm about to say.
So my first time at Yoga should have been the perfect time to start chatting up girls about the class etc. But the first rule was, "No Talking". Figures, yoga is all about the mind and minimum hotness to take the class is like hb 8, I think the gym got fed up w/ random guys trying to hit on them.
I have a definite HB 9 to my left and we were told to lay down on our stomaches and turn your head to the side. The HB 9 and I both turn our heads to each other at the same time but WTF?! I can't get myself to just look at her right in the eye. It felt as if I was automatically CBed by the gym right when I entered the class. I felt like a douche cause it would've been perfect but I f'ed it up. Instead I looked towards the instructor.
Slap me right now. Anyone have some good subtle tips to communicate w/ girls in Yoga classes? It's freakin tough, cause their too focused on the class, and actually I was too. 4 years of high school football + 4 years of track and field is not even close to how hard yoga is. No flexibility = absolute hell in yoga =(

1) Arrive to the class a few minutes early. You can use this time to stretch out and prepare for the class by finding a good spot next to the girl of your choice. This also allows you time to get around the 'no talking' rule. Which by the way isn't there so much to cock-block you, as it is to ensure that everyone gets as relaxed as possible during the class. So get there early and chat up the girls about the class and other topics before it starts, introduce yourself or whatever you plan to do.
2) Stop bitching out and make strong eye contact during the class, you have nothing to be afraid of. When you look at each other, hold eye contact and give her a nice smile then return to your yoga business. For one, its common courtesy to smile at people who are looking at you, and two, it shows that you are a friendly, approachable person, thereby setting you up for option 3.
3) Approach her after class and strike up a conversation about the easiest thing you can think of (yoga class and what you thought of it, etc). Its that simple, progress from there. _________________ Amor est Vitae Essentia
