so me and my friend were in central park and we saw 2 girls tanning
we came up to them and i did most of the talking with an opener, it was
"when a turtle loses his shell, is he naked or homeless?" now it seems stupid but at the time it seemed really funny. so they looked at us weird but one of them tried to
annswer, i negged her a bit, we asked where there from, what there doing
in the city and then they just looked like they wanting us to leave and thats
the end of it.

so what did i do wrong or could have done better, it was my second pickup attemp ever btw.

Since you didn't go into a lot of detail I'll try to give you what I think could have been done better.

First things first "tanning" as in literally getting a tan in the park? Well if that's right then they would have shields up because 2 half naked chicks will expect guys to come up to them lol.
Your opener is good dude...I think you just said it bad even though it did what it was supposed to do (open a conversation). You gotta establish a time constraint...always have something better to do than picking up chicks. Anyway dunno if you did this stuff but if I was using your opener it'd go something like this:

*Smiling*"Hey guys I'd like an intelligent woman's opinion on something...*serious face* now this is a really serious question so think carefully before you answer...when a turtle loses his shell *pause for dramatic effect* is he naked or homeless *huge cheerful smile*?"

Just throw in the time constraint somewhere...tell them you and your friend are gonna hang out with some friends somwhere or whatever but time constraints are important for chicks who have their shields up especially.

I'm guessing the other problem is that you waited too long to dhv. Simple answer is dhv earlier lol. Chicks love Cs vs Us, best friends test (would have been a good choice if they were together tanning) whatever you want to do man.

Lol the forum can be a ghost town but it's because life is so demanding for us. I'm lucky I'm off just relaxing a bit so I'm trying to help out and learn.

Yeah saying intelligent women does give undeserving value to an extent but at the same time it shows you're not opening them just because they're HBs and well they can't outright blow you off because doing that would mean they're stupid lol.

Personally I don't usually use the intelligent women bit in my openers but I thought it might be good especially if they have those "shields" up to blow off guys.

Yeah I know the feeling...i felt the same way when I started out after just reading mystery's and style's stuff. Practice clears it all up.

And you're gonna get better. I was horrible afc before I discovered the game...just practice. Your female friends are a good resource to practice a little cockiness and a couple routines when you're not out approaching. See if they eat up your dhv stories and all that.

yea i got rejected badly but i kinda feel good, at least im doing something and trying,
my game cant get any worse only better, i learned new stuff and next time ill improve. about the pua style, at least in "the game" after calling girls targets for so long they seemed to lose a feeling of humanity, i mean its a calculated system sure but actually calling ppl targets seems kinda inhumane, i think style mentioned something simmilar in the game.

I'm 19 and in medical school lol so it's tough. I started probably a year ago. I was horrible afc. Afc'ed myself into a huge hole. Decided to get out of that hole. Now I'm more social and pretty much happy. The thing about pickup is that you improve according to the goals you set yourself and you can improve quickly or slowly...that is actually up to you. My goals are simply to meet and have great interactions. I don't want to go and nail a lot of chicks so I don't go for fcloses every night and stuff. I know myself well enough to tell that I'd be happier in a relationship.

About improving if you want to improve fast you can. Just do a lot of approaches but think about each set when you've finished. There's something to learn from each set. If you want to take it easy then feel free to. The key is quality not quantity. If you want to improve quickly do a lot of high quality sets. It's that simple. Every set I do good or bad I learn something and I'm better prepared.

As with everything picking up girls can become boring lol believe it or not! When you become a master girls practically chase you and that seems awesome but you might get bored because it becomes to easy. I read the game a long time ago so I can't speak for what it had but I think what style was trying to show is that the true essence of pickup is a challenge. We enjoy the seduction more than maybe we enjoy the girls. I know it sounds weird but in the end the girl he ended up with was the one who was different...the one who didn't just fall for his routines.
