Even the ones that aren't Brad Pitt, Clooney etc. Like Robin Williams, etc.

There's a good chance a lot of them have alpha male tenancies which is why they enjoy the limelight so much and got into acting in the first place-- the need for attention. I suppose someone like Brad Pitt would be more of an alpha male than say, Woody Allen. Then again he was kind of a pimp in his own right.

I would say most are, but there are a good number that are not alpha.

Check out some behavioral science books. I can't think of any off of the top of my head, but I read in a book co-written by, Desmond Morris, that Big Name actors like that are considered Alpha male, or of high status because of their position. (If you want some good body language or behavioral science books, check out Derren Brown's website, he's some type of illusionist or something.)

Though i've read in a biography about Robin Williams that he said he was really shy before getting into theater, as was Tom Hanks. Have you ever seen Matt Damon next to Ben Afleck? He seems rather non-alphaish. But that's just what I've seen.

And I've also read that actors tend to have narccisistic tendencies.

I may just be getting into the PUA thing, but I know a good deal about human behavior and stuff like that.

You can't tell from t.v. how these people are.
There is no way of knowing unless you mean them.
They are actors they are suposto act... even if they act alpha all the time they might be the most self conscious person.

There is probably some truth in this. However, it could also be the case that they acquire alpha male qualities as a result of fame. Whilst breaking their way into the business some beta male qualities are desirable to worm your way into a big role. Once there, you have money, influence, power, authority and this will turn the nerdiest guy alpha.

To be honest it is not very useful to look at movie stars as PUA role models. They have more social proof than the greatest PUA's to begin with, and lead very weird lives.

This is true, but then it creates a "chicken or the egg" paradox of which came first. I think it's safe to say you would find a much higher percentage of Alpha Males and alpha male behavior in actors than in say, accountants or many other careers.

It is important to know. There is no ONE distinction that makes you an Alpha. Rather, it is a personality that develops because you know that you have something to offer other people. Women look for men with strong genes, this can be so many things.

You have the traditional warrior type, like Football players, gangsters, soldiers, rockstars, etc...

You have the Priests, Divinators, and, Magician using everything as benevolent as Truth seeking and as destructive as deception and magic.

You have the Kings, Politicians, and Celebrities (What you are talking about): They will typically use a form of energetic, or intellectual dominance to establish dominion over others.

You have lovers, artists, philosophers, writers. women are attracted to these guys because from an evolutionary standpoint, they are taking a big risk going against the flow. And women tend to like men who take the road less traveled by. They are more interesting.

You have what D D calls the adventurers, which may not intend to dominate people purposely, although they do because of their magnetic spirit and personality.

I mean, these are just some of the aspects that make a Dominant male.

It does not matter what you believe really, you could be a big computer geek. But, if you display general determination, confidence, willingness for risk taking (make it healthy for domino's sake), and ability to handle confrontation well. You are golden.

I would also like to note, that this is a state of mind. Every man has it, I thought I did not have it, it turned out I have more of it than I ever imagined. I take full responsibility for myself, but I mean most of us, including myself, were brought up by a dominant mother. I had to rediscover manhood for myself.

How did I do this. Can somebody say watching the PUA? LOL 8)

Not even close.

Believe it or not, most celebrities are NOT "alpha" personalities. Most of the people that society considers to be celebrities are musicians, actors and business people who are often introverted. If you think about it for a minute you'll realise that this makes a lot of sense because musicians spend a lot of time alone or in their small groups, playing and writing music and being creative and much like most artists, they aren't overly dominant. Many many actors have been reported to be quiet, shy and reclusive people (I believe Johnny Depp is one that I heard is actually very low key despite how vocal he is on screen).

The jobs that these people have require them to appear to be dominant and social types of people, but often it is merely a show; it is just as much acting as what you see in their movies and the same goes for the musicians as well. That should be encouraging though, because if you're not an extrovert and you are actually a shy and quiet type of person, then you can do the same as them and act like you're a lot more social than you really are and you can get as much attention as they get.
