Hey, if I go to the set, most likely people will ask me "where you from?" (cause english is my second language).



1) Should I give answer right away? How should I say. Maybe something like "I tell you only if you good in geography, to make sure you know where it is:) How many oceans are in the world and tell me the names?" What do you think about this? Maybe like "I am actually alien from another planet on a short vacation here, but do not tell anybody, we do not want people to panic"



2) Let's say Eventually I say "I am Polish". Than how to answer to:

a) "Oh You know those polish jokes? We have so many here" or "I know thsi funny polish joke". I feel those are my DLV as most of those jokes actually point how stupid polish people are. So how showlud I answer? Maybe "No I do not know the polish joke, but you know the smartest guy, what was his name, ah John Paul 2, he was pole too". Do you think that would be good DHV?

b) Let's say somebody will say something like "Oh, yeah there are many polish people working at construction site near my house". This is also DLV for me I feel. Should I say something like "Really? Too bad you diud not meet the educated and sucessfull ones like my friends and me".

It's visible where you come from. All slavs have specific hard, strong accent, that indicates we're from Central or Eastern Europe. After a five minutes of chat everone will know you're from Poland, Czech Rep., Russia or Serbia. So you won't hide it.

In that case, try to demonstrate you're different than some stereotypical guy from Poland. I don't see reason we should feel less or more worthy than any other nation. Just show you're a cool guy regardless of place where you were born.

About Polish jokes, say, yes, I know them, but consider them stupid and know some far more funny. Or admit they are to some extent true but what's the matter? Every nation has its weaknesses that are ridiculed abroad.

Ahh, don't mention John Paul II. It won't bring you any higher value. For how long we can boast with one man? It becomes boring. Not mentioning the fact, few young people in the West (I assume you live in Western Europe now) believes in God and have respect to church representants.

I actually live in Zoo York = New York, ha ha. I am kind of stuck here for like 15 years, but want to move to California at some point. I have been there and people are much nicer and weather etc. New York is kind of tough u know, like a jungle, ha ha.
