I have a Question,

Ive been talking to this girl for awhile now probably more than two months. And she has liked me for about 2 years and we recently went to a dance together and had lots of fun, but then she began to act weird and her friend told my friend she said she just wanted to be my friend, so i approached her and asked her if she wanted to date or what was up, She said she wants to be get to know me and be friends before we date. We dont really talk much but we have begun to talk a lot lately and i see ioi's and all that but she doesnt want to take it further. Its hard to explain because we dated two years ago and it didnt work out but she has wanted to get back with me since we broke up and now that we are talking she says what i mentioned above. So i lost my cool and told her I didnt think i could be just friends with her but i could try. She said for her she needs to be friends with the person and then she will like them.

Can you help me with this did i mess up? im confused and maby shes not into me anymore. My friend said she is probably scared because she doesnt know what to do but idk.
I need some advice should i just forget her?
Shes 17 im 18 and i think ive been her only boyfriend.
