Dude, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone.
Take this advice from PM88ENG on board. When i first started pick up i stopped drinking. People at first kept asking me why i stopped and it was annoying. After a while they just got use to me not drinking. The thing is people find it hard to understand how you can have a good time sober.
Here is a bit of science (well sort of). When you drink it lowers our inhibitions which releases chemicals making us feel good. You can get into the same state by having fun and not caring (let go of all inhibitions). The same chemicals are released. I feel drunk at the end of every night. It does wear off quickly if you stop having fun but why would you. Plus benefit of no hangover.
If you are worried what other people think then your crazy. Who cares what they think, they are only jealous because they need to spend £40 to have a good night where you spend £5 on club entry. Also if you care so much what they think then your game will suffer. You are more likely to care about outcomes.
Don't care what anyone thinks of you it is their problem not yours. Surely they have better things to talk about than you not drinking. If not then they really are quite sad. Just a thought to consider.
