I'm currently in college and I don't get the chance to get out to many night parties (nor do I really want to). I love playing my guitar and singing, and until recently I kept it to myself mostly. Up until a year or so ago I was a little shaky about playing in public, but now I play just as good in front of people as I do on my own. I'm very confident in that respect.
People always tell me that I should use this to my advantage to meet girls around campus. Understand that I don't mean to woo or impress anyone. The way I see it, playing guitar out in public will automatically show my interest and passion in music and also attract girls with similar interests. It's a way to put myself out there without even having to say a word.
I've played out in public a few nights, and I got some people coming over and hanging out with me. I'm not sure if this is a way to attract girl though, because it seems like girls aren't that interested in live music.

I think you should carry on playing live; you enjoy it anyway and there are girls that exist that like live music. People tend to get hung up on singers anyway (e.g to be a good guitarist/drummer is way harder than to be a good singer IMO), plus performing live takes a fair bit of bravery and chicks generally dig that. And drop it into conversation every now and then that you perform.

Right now it's just my voice and an acoustic guitar but by January this guy I play with is coming back and we're going to try to form a band. I'll be playing slap bass and doing some singing for that along with this guy. While it's not my favorite kind of music, we're going for that funky old RHCP sound that's really wild and great for parties. The stuff I do on my own is a little bit deeper and more controlled, but I like doing both.

A good way to go is when asked what you do say musician she will ask what instruments tell her then say its what you have always wanted to do ask her what her ambitions in life are. It also throws up a good amount of opportunities to neg if they were in the choir or their parents forced them to play something geeky. Then you can play on these things eg
HB: I used to play recorder in school
PUA:hahha, no really I'm sure you could pull off the recorder hehehe very few can
All in all it's just an easy way to get the conversation on to something you know a lot about which also DHV's. Also watch their eyes when you tell them you a re a musician lol

To simply sit on campus playing guitar will likely make you look like a busker, but to shred out some solos at a party will display your passion for music without even having to talk. _________________ Your momma's so fat when she walked past the TV she was going to the kitchen to get cake 'cos she's fat.

None of the bars or coffee shops have live music since this big corporation came into town and put and end to the music scene, and nobody is going to let me play at a party while just on my own. People don't want that stuff...they want dance music.

Plus, you'll max your social proof if the gig is successful, thus making things a hell of a lot easier. _________________ Your momma's so fat when she walked past the TV she was going to the kitchen to get cake 'cos she's fat.
