Hey Guys

I got a little question... I got deaf parents and therefore I speak sign language and when I was younger I taught my friends some basic words and the alphabet in order to cheat on school tests and stuff... Now when my friends and I go to parties or clubs we sometimes start talking sign language if we are far from eachother, talking about people and we don't want them to hear what we say and when the music is too loud... When we start talking allot of girls notice and comes over to get me to teach them some words and talk about how we know it and stuff... When they want me to teach them stuff I always say "sure" and teach them boring words like car, book, christmas and stuff since I don't know what other cool things I can teach them, so my question is: Do you guys have any suggestions that I can teach them like a neg or some C&F or other stuff? or maybe a C&F or neg that I can say when they ask me how I know it and if i can teach them some words?

I don't suggest teaching her words like "car" and "book" -- those are boring.

I also wouldn't beat the topic to death by turning a thread of conversation into some sort of sign language curriculum, so I'd do something brief with it and then push the interaction forward.

One idea that comes to mind is asking her name and then getting her to copy your lead as you spell it, "correcting" her hand signs so incorporate some light-hearted kino.

You can also start off by saying that you and your friends use sign language to secretly communicate with eachother and that there's no way you're letting into that "club". what has she done to deserve it? or you can explain that if you teach her too much, then you wont be able to hand signal to your friends if she's boring and you need a bailout.
