Hey guys, here's a question which may or may not have been discussed in depth on this forum so far. How do you deal with your friends if they make harsh comments about you for no reason.

Here's an example to clarify - a few weeks ago I was out with my mates, (I'm from the UK by the way) and we were having an okay night and everyone was in a good mood and laughing with each other and talking normally. We left the bar where we started the night after a few hours because it had started to empty out and it wasn't busy any more and we moved down the street to get something to eat, when two of my friends I hadn't seen in a while came out of nowhere and we got to talking. Then one of these guy's brothers kind of ambled over that I had met a few months previously.

Now I knew he was a cunt the first time I met him, I just knew outright that he was going to be a cunt, and he was, but I didn't treat him like one, I tried to be friendly and non-judgemental as I usually do. He shook my hand and said - "Ahh it's you, I remember you, your the one that has a big ass" Now this guy is about 26, and my other mates think he's a pretty cool bloke I guess, and 2 of my supposed friends suddenly side with this guy who they don't even know and have just heard about, and start trying to jibe at me about it, even though no one had ever made a comment before, and I know for a fact I don't have a big behind. Once he left it stopped immediately and one of my friends apologised, and I just took it on the chin and said I don't care. The other one didn't apologise and tried to keep the joke going, this is a guy who's been my supposed friend for like the past 2 years who's never harsh about anyone.

So I guess my question is, do you guys respond by insulting people who try to belittle you? do you hit them? Do you leave them and forget about it? I have never really experienced what I guess you'd call bullying before and so I don't know what to do.. it made me feel self conscious and I lost a little self confidence too and its pissed me off a lot today. Thoughts?

PS. Sorry its been a long thread ^^

Its all about how you take the joke. People will push to see what they can get away with, let it happen all while U are still laughing about it. If you dont find it funny, let em know enough is enough. If they continue, ignore them/go off and find new friends.

One of my friends found out im into puaing, for about 2 month he always tried to make me look stupid and belittle me so one day i lost it went mad told him that his behaviour is unacceptable found some new friends who are cool guys and to be honest are alot more fun.

When i see him around ill will say hello and thats it. People like this think they can control everything i think i shocked him now i've got new friends and i think he feels left out but hes got what he deserved hes not a friend if he makes me miserable, i say so what goes around comes around

In that situation you explained i would ahve played with the fact that most guys are extremely homophobic and i would just play it up. Say " Ohhhh, you know u want it" and like rub up against him or something.

I garantee he would never say anything about your ass again. Just don't let it bother you, he probably sees you as a threat and wanted to amog to establish himself as the head of the group.

I don't tell my friends I'm learning how to become a PUA.

Only my online friends know :).

My mates don't make comments like that. Even if they did, I'd give it back just as good ;).
