| Sorry if this is long...
Background:
I work at an engineering firm. Every week I play 5-a-side football (or soccer) after work on one night with guys I've found over time since before starting this current job (summer), in a team I started up and generally take charge of. Back then I met a guy at work and convinced him to play for my team when I was short on players. After the game I saw him talking to a girl (we'll call L) and I got introduced and spoke a little bit. Turns out she also works at our company (it's quite big) and plays in a ladies team every week at the same football centre.
So I see L around every now and then at the football place, and sometimes at work. She works in another building where my friend also sits, so sometimes we have a bit of chit chat when I'm over there mainly to see my mate. I bought a camcorder about a month ago and have been telling people how I want to have someone film my team so we can watch how we played and analyse how we can do better. When I told L this, she found it funny and told me I was "taking it too seriously" and that I was "sad". When I asked her if she could do the filming she would dismiss the idea and generally mock, which is fine because I didn't expect her to do it, however my casual persistence made her say she'd consider doing one half of it.
However this last week, I found someone to film our match, and I saw L briefly walking past before the start and before she could say anything (probably to get out of filming it) I said look - I've got a camerawoman, pointing to the girlfriend of a teammate who said she'd do it (I don't think L knows her).
Today, I didn't think I'd be over in the other building, but I wanted to tell L that it got filmed and that it was on YouTube so she could see it. So I did it by email instead.
Her reply was like "You put it on YouTube? You loser! How much did you have to pay the poor girl?"
I replied saying how we actually won the match (my riposte to the 'loser' label), and that by being on YouTube we could attract sponsors, if not a rich Sheikh to buy the team off me and take us to the Premiership title (basically, far flung OTT stuff), and how I was gonna analyse all the footage and make technical notes and comments to give to all my players (I knew this would get the too serious reaction again). Plus I added that I didn't have to pay the girl to film us, the privilege was enough.
Interestingly, her reply was simply "Get a girlfriend!"
L is a cute little blonde, maybe not my ideal type, but not bad. My friend mentioned she had or did have a bf but it wasn't going well or it ended or something. One of the main reasons I'm on this forum is that I have an almost unhealthy amount of female friends/acquaintances. I decided I was gonna reply with something that might not get a reply, but I couldn't take too long over it, so I replied with
"If that's an offer, I'll have to weigh up my options, as well as your pros and cons".
I didn't get a reply. That was kinda in the 'over-analysing' vein she's known me to be. Was that too clever or just lame?
And what should I do tomorrow?
a) Go over to her building and ignore her while I talk to my friend and any other female colleagues around? Or
b) should I go over there and just plow her and never stop, even when I see her at the football place?
Running a football team must be good 'leader of men' DHV stuff, right?
