agreed, but that's where calibration comes in.
i never said that you should always have high energy, in fact you should only open a set with an energy level just above that of the group. from there you drop it to their level after you've reached the hook point.
but if you're standing there and everyone is smiling and laughing and you have a poker face going then you will be the guy who doesnt know how to have fun. you can use this as a neg at times but thats it.
not laughing or smiling shows that you're not enjoying yourself and that you're bored. so if they're not entertaining you then why the hell are you still in the set? why would a man of value hang around people who bore him?
see where i'm going here?
now, i'm by no means saying that you should constantly be laughing and smiling... but there's a difference between having fun and being a clown. know where to draw the line.
