also, look into rye's sticky where he has a couple of recommended posts. theres some real deep shit there.

before i give you any recommendations, i want to give you a tip that could possibly accelerate your learning by YEARS. if someone had really taken the time to make this point to me when i was starting out, i would have saved years worth of wasted time.

that advice is to spend as much time out in the real world REALLY trying this stuff as you do studying it.

now, if i had said this to myself years ago, my response would have been "but i'm not ready!!! i just don't feel like i 'get it' yet." listen, you will never feel like you "get it" until you've gone out and fucked up a whole bunch of times. so make sure you are really, truly going out and doing stuff or your reading will be nearly useless.

seriously, i really want to make sure you get that.

with that said, i think that the book "The Way of The Superior Man" by David Deida should be required reading for the whole community. It really speaks to the IDENTITY of what it is to be a man and that is understated in just about everything else out there, but is essential.

good luck!

The Secret is an awesome book like shankalon said.. even if it doesn't help you with your game.. which I believe does it will make your better in life. If you're looking for a trick or something like that There's a book on the cube.. called the cube I believe haha and then Frogs into Princes: Introducing NLP.. These are just books I've read there's plenty out there though

I apprecite your lengthy comment, and yes I totally agree with you, IMO its like learning to drive by watching a video, in the end you have to do it yourself hands on. However, books are a great resourse, you can read them at your liesure and can go into such detail that other resources wouldnt have.

Frogs into Princes talks about how language can be used to influence people. Good, interesting stuff, but I think that you would get more out of books that address your core identity, instead of "tricks" you can perform to influence people. It's best to move towards becoming a more and more attractive man versus finding more new tricks to get people to find you attractive. Both take effort to learn. But building your core "self" is natural and takes no effort to "perform"... better investment.

Deida's book is great for that.

Also, don't learn magic unless you're fascinated by it. Mystery does magic because he loves magic. It's not something he does, it's WHO he is. Think about something you've always wanted to do - skydiving, musical instrument, a new sport, a new hobby. Pursue THAT. It will improve your pickup because your life will be richer.

Ah language that can be used to influence peoples decisions, exactly what I was after, thank you very much. What is Deida's book and is it availiable in book stores? Your right in that its better then using tricks, similar to AFC's relying on using canned openers. That is why Im after books that teachs confidence, creating humour etc, and not having to rely on techinques and rountines, to just be yourself, except a better, funnier more confident person.

I do like magic only to a certain extent, the attention you get from performing tricks to a group of people is fascinating and I like being able to entertain people. Id wouldnt be pursuing a career in that field though.

Other then going to gym I dont really have any other hobbies, however next year I will be going out more so perhaps will be able to find something. Thanks for your advice pushyouredge, appreciate it.

No prob scorpion1.

I believe that Frogs into Princes is out of print... you might have to search online to find it and it might be expensive to get. Unless you can find a PDF version or something, which I would imagine exists somewhere.

The book is by Richard Bandler and John Grinder - they went on to write a book after that one called Trance-formations. Frogs into Princes was pretty good, but Trance-formations is everything Frogs had in a more refined manner and more.

People in the seduction community seek out Frogs into Princes because Ross Jeffries said it was the book that inspired him to create Speed Seduction. However, the original Speed Seduction material was mainly based on Trance-formations, not Frogs.

I used to put 100% of my efforts towards NLP/influence/hypnosis stuff at the start of my journey. I still recommend looking into it, but I think you should also consider Swinggcat's book Real World Seduction if you are looking for ways to influence women. Swinggcat's basic audio course program is much better than the book, but you asked for books. ;)

Haha I saw that next to Unlimited Power, couldnt really choose, both seemed like good books, but the fact that extramask had a copy helped me out. I will buy ATGW after Ive finished UP, thanks heaps though Rye Lee. How did the book help you?

pushyour edge, thanks for your reply. Ah thats why I couldnt find Frogs at the bookstore haha the lady was looking on the computer and everything. Would you recomend Trance-formations? I still have to read The Secret and Unlimited Power, hopefully be good reads :D

Real World Seduction, sounds like a good read. pushyouredge, do you think you made the right choice starting off by learning NLP etc? I want to learn how to be able to persuade people, read people, what they are thinking, and influence people, pretty much what you said.

by the way pushyouredge did you look closely at my quotation?

pullyouredge... no, i missed that the first time around.

You asked if I recommended learning NLP first, etc. This is what I would recommend to myself if I could do it all over again.

I would recommend getting Swinggcat's initial audio course - it sets the best foundation for attractive, persuasive conversation out of all the programs out there (in my opinion). The book, Real World Seduction, was written a year or two before the audio course and has lots of the same ideas, but just is not presented as powerfully or as in-depth as the audio course. Still, if it must be a book, I would recommend that to get you started.

Once you have a good amount of experiences under your belt in going out and meeting new people (I would say you could consider yourself ready after meeting about 500 new people), THEN it would be worth your time to learn NLP.

My reasoning is this... NLP is a way to TWEAK your communication to its maximum potential. It is a way to take something that is already good (or at least decent) and make it excellent. BUT if you don't have that much experience talking to strangers in the first place, adding NLP to your communication will take inexperienced communication skills and turn them into sounding really fucking weird and creepy.

So if I were in your shoes, I would start with Swinggcat, have a lot of fun and meet a ton of people THEN learn NLP afterwards. Swinggcat doesn't necessarily talk much about it, but he knows a ton about Speed Seduction and NLP. But he does say in the course that if you don't have what he's teaching down-pat, you're going to have really limited results with NLP. I agree with him.
