I know making girls laugh is on the whole a good thing, however is it advisable to do that at your own expense? I think pre-PUA study I guess this was an automatic thing for me to occasionally do. Like today, a girl I work with who lives round the corner from me (she's got a bf, damnit), we normally try to car share and today was her turn to give me a lift in to work. When she rang the doorbell, that woke me up - I overslept by miles!
So when I'm at the office I make other girls laugh by telling them about this, and how much I can't cope with mornings generally, my personal records for lateness etc. Basically, I'm making them laugh by saying how much of a slob I am. Is all DLV bad?

I thought women digged Hugh Grant, not that I'm anything like that idiot (why screw things up with Liz Hurley? lol)

I do this myself quite a bit, and i don't think it falls under anything other than being funny. Sure, you're telling people you're a lazy ass mofo, but if you do that with enough confidence - like you are perfectly aware and you can change any day you'd like - they'll see it as you having a sense of humour. Thinking of that as a DLV is not right in my eyes. Spin it! ;)

As a side note: I have "changed", but I still go with the "I'm lazy" stories, which they see as me exaggerating things which they themselves (I know they are, they tell me, just not with confidence or humour, just as facts) are much worse at (and they know it). But exaggerating it makes it funny, so in their eyes, you're funny and better than them.

self depreciating humor shows confidence and is a DHV actually... the problem is though that you need to know who to do it and when to stop.

a few jokes about being late is fine, but more than 3 will turn it all in a DLV.
self depreciating humor is most effective when it's light hearted and in small doses
