I never dated in high school... I didn't even ask girls out. So as you can imagine, I'm a little behind.

Now I've invited and gone to coffee shops, as well as lunch, with a couple of different girls a few time this year, but I don't know if that is considered a date. How do I ask a girl out without sounding AFC, and what are some good date ideas beyond lunch and coffee?

When you ask a woman on a "date", social pressure occurs, on her AND you. How should I dress, act, speak, etc.

It makes things awkward. I never "date".

Instead, I have "adventures". Just her and I, riding around doing whatever comes to mind. Notice, that there is time distortion in this technique. If you have fun, great. It's just easier to build comfort and maybe lead to a little more. To hell with dinner and a movie...do something memorable and unique. Why see a lame movie when you can go to a costume shop and act a fool, making her laugh (DHV). Or sitting in the park talking about, well, anything! Bounce to the bookstore for a few minutes, then bounce somewhere else. Stay moving and 3 hours will seem like all day.

Walk through the mall and look at clothes, music, etc. Stop at a kiosk and look at whatever is there. My personal favorite is the one with sunglasses. I make fun of celebrities with the sunglasses, and the HB always laughs.
