I just started working on my AA before I go to the bars this weekend, so I started with just saying Hi to ppl I pass on the way to class, but all the hot girls just smile back, is this good? is this bad? or am i just thinking too much

you're thinking too much dood! relax!!
a smile in general is an IOI. not a strong one in these circumstances.. but still a good sign.
saying hey to everyone im sure builds confidence.. as you'll begin to realise people are just as nervous chatting to strangers as you probably are.

Going around and saying Hi to every girl you see is a way for YOU to get over AA. Honestly, girls who don't know you probably aren't interested in some guy walking up and saying hi to them and just continuing to walk by. If you want, try and give a complement or something along with the greeting. This might get you a thanks or something. Also, if you are doing head on approaches this can cause a great deal of tension for the girl. My suggestion would be to wait until she passes if you are walking past a girl as she is going the other way and then over your shoulder you say hi. Something like that allows you to keep your higher value because you aren't turning into her and you aren't doing a frontal approach which can freak people out regardless if they are a guy or girl. Make it as least awkward as possible and think of it this way. You are doing this to better yourself, not really to get great looks from HBs. Say Hi to a lot more than just girls. Just be friendly in general with everyone. You are working on improving your social life. Life being the key word. There are more than just women you have to talk to so talk to everyone.
