Hey guys, I've been reading through Robert Greene's Art of Seduction, and I've been wondering how to apply his stuff to a much more direct style of game.

If anyone has any oppinions on this give me a shout

It emphasizes understanding the weakness of a target, and that can't be done without a lot of conversation first, so a lot of the techniques are best applied on how to keep a women (or MLTRs) rather than quick pickup. But the best part of the book is to understand the psychology of women and the psychology necessary to be a PUA. It would be beneficial for you to hone your pickup skills based up certain PUA types mentioned in the book, like the Rake.
The second half of the book is best for advice. It is important to understand that this book isn’t a “How To” guide, it’s more like theory; you should incorporate it into another seduction method, like Mystery or Juggler Method.

Kalel brings up a great point. To apply a lot of Robert Greene's material, you have to have a pretty good idea of how the girl operates.

There is an alternative... such as studying her forum messages/MySpace profile, or talking to her friends about her. Other then that, yeah, you have to get to know her pretty well before you can categorize what type of "victim" she is.

Art of Seduction is where I learned where I was slipping up a lot... complaining, displaying open jealousy, etc. The anti-seducers. If you can weed anti-seducer traits from your Game, then you're leaps and bounds ahead of most others in the field.

Lets say you meet a gorgeous woman on the street. You stop her and you say:

"I know I'm a complete stranger and this is totally random, but I had to meet you because you are REALLY beautiful and I wanted to see what you are like."

Her state is pumped through the roof... we make introductions... I follow up the introduction with

"So ____, tell me a bit about yourself..."

and she starts talking.... From this point onwards is there any application of Robert Greene's material?

Not really at that point, but after you find out a little about her, maybe. Again it's mainly theory which you can build your game around. For instance Cocky/Funny is similar to Rakish behavior, NLP seduction is similar to poeticizing your behavior, and Amog behavior is similar to Charismatic behavior.
You should read this book! Maybe not at first, you should probably start with a PUA method first. This is more like supplementary reading. It will greatly aid your PU because it picks up where most methods leave off. You don’t need this book to pick up chicks, but you need it to keep them coming back. This probably isn’t important to you now, but there may come a time when you will want a LTR or MLTRs and this will show you how to do this. I believe that the book states from the beginning that it will show you how to make girls fall in love with you, not just sleep with you. So it has its purposes, just probably not what you want at the moment.

so basically, something you'd suggest is really honing my pickup skills first... and then coming back to this book later when I'll understand it a lot more.

Greene is spot-on in his victim/seducer descriptions. Must've taken him forever to study when he wrote that book.

Yeah, I'd say that's a good plan. That way later you can visualize the way you can incorporate ideas from “The Art of Seduction” into your game.

If you start with “The Art of Seduction” you might get overwhelmed. It’s better if you start out with an easy to follow PU method first (written by someone with new PUAs in mind). Then move on to the broader more complicated topics covered in “The Art of Seduction”.
