This is an issue I've been having for awhile. See, for the most part even when I'm not trying to game girls, I've just got this immature clowning kind of personality. It's like a very potent version of C&F. Mostly everything I say gets a laugh, and people do enjoy my company when I use my bizarre sense of humor. I know that although a sense of humor is attractive to girls, if you become the entertainer they'll never see you as a real person. Though I do break character and act real sometimes, I'm still finding it hard to attract women. How do you know when to answer with a witty joke or completely normal?

For example:

HB: Where do you want to transfer to after community college?
ME: I want to attend clown college to major in criminology

or the normal answer

HB: Where do you want to transfer to after community college?
ME: I want to major in film

I'm not flipping attraction switches, and this is really delaying my growth in game.

conversatoins shoudl be interesting and fun, with the occasional smart ass comment, neg, or c&f, generally when you want to do things like that is when you can pull something out of what she is saying or the conversation and get a laugh, but not come off as a clown at the same time.....
so really its a matter of feeling the conversation, and when you feel it be a great time to turn around waht she says and you feel it wont come off the wrong way then go ahead and do it...just make sure you dont go over board with the jokes in convo or you will see like a clown

If you are having girls ask you a lot of questions like that then you are on the right track. Whether or not you should make a joke or be serious depends on your calibration of the situation (and it sounds like maybe you should turn that calibration nob a bit towards the serious side). Anyways, girls are interested in you if they ask you personal questions.

What you should do is return by asking them questions, and not boring ass questions like they ask you. Questions like "what did you want to be when you were a child?" or something that is somewhat deep (get yourself a list). When she responds, be very interested and act like you are just discovering her as a person and now like her for her personality "Wow, you are really adventurous, I find that so refreshing and interesting in a person. I'm really glad I took the time to meet you. To be honest, my first impression of you kinda sucked, but you're winning me over. Blah blah blah" (some cred to Mystery). Then you can release by saying "I can't even talk to you now" and rolling off, or just somehow show your willingness to walk away. Don't worry because she now feels like you both have a lot invested in each other and won't let you go easy.

Then maybe run some trust test/kiss close routines and try to bounce her to your place.

Girls expect guys to be unpredictable, therefore joke when she thinks you'll be serious and other way round. Just mind you don't tell jokes just to say one each time cause it might starts to be irritating. But again it's just about feeing the situation.
