| Hey all,
I'm new to the forum, and actually just getting back into the scene after getting divorced. I moved from North America to Munich, Germany for work about 5 months ago, and things are interesting here because I've got no network here, I don't speak the language well, and the women here definitely seem to be a little different. Anyhow, to the situation. I apologize in advance for a looong first post.
I walk to the subway every day to work, and almost every day walking in the other direction is this seriously hot girl. German girls tend to avoid eye contact like the plague, so I was pretty amazed that this girl noticed I was checking her out, returned eye contact, and smiled. We never had much time to stop (I'm usually running late in the AM), but we kept up the smile and hello routine for a couple of weeks.
Finally, one day I said fuck it and stopped her to introduce myself; turns out she speaks great English, but I was in a hurry so I just left it at "nice to meet you and I'll see you around". A few weeks later, a friend came to visit me here, and after we were coming home from jogging, we bumped into her and a friend. Afterwards, my buddy basically said "Dude, you should tap that, she was checking you out the whole way we were walking." That gave me the confidence to make a move.
The next morning we met again. With Oktoberfest coming, she told me I should come out with her and her friends. She gave me her number, and I took the opportunity to ask her if she'd like to go out some time for drinks before that. She said yeah, so we made plans to meet up the following weekend, and I was a happy camper.
The weekend comes, so I call her cell and get no answer (and she's got no voicemail so I can't leave a message). I try twice and get nothing and no call-back. I'm pissed and figure I've been blown off, despite the fact I was getting wicked eye contact and smiles that convinced me the chemistry was there.
Anyhow, next morning, I see her and ask what's up. She apologizes and says she ended up taking a last-minute road trip to Berlin for the weekend. I say cool, and ask her again if she'd like to meet up for a drink after work that week. She says yeah, and this time we meet after work (on a Wednesday) and go for a drink. The conversation is going well, turns out we have a fair bit in common, and I spend most of my words relating to her experiences (travel, work, etc.) or reinforcing her own decisions ("That's awesome you took off and lived in Thailand for two years. Most people just talk about that, but YOU did it."). The opportunity to touch or even comment on how nice she looked just didn't seem to come up because we were talking almost non-stop. After a few hours - she admits she's getting tipsy and needs to head home because we've got work the next day - we get up and go. I walk her to the subway, and we agree to meet up the next day - turns out we both like to smoke weed, so she tells me she'll bring some. When the train comes, she thanks me for a nice time and we do the European cheek kiss thing and say bye.
Next day (Thursday), we meet in the morning, and she apologizes that she won't be able to make it because she's got to meet a sick friend she was telling me about the night before. However, she did bring me a little gift, so I say thanks and say we should get together this Sunday (Oktoberfest is starting). She agrees and we head off.
Friday, we pass each other on the way back from work and she's with her friend. I was planning to go with a buddy to a club that night, so I ask her and her friend if they'd like to come. She basically says she's pretty tired, but if I text her the address, she'll think about it. I might have messed up here though, because after her friend left, I asked her if she was up for a coffee right then even though she already said she was tired - too pushy?Anyhow, I text her that night saying the club thing ended up getting cancelled and that I'd call her about getting together this weekend.
Yesterday (Saturday), I call her around lunch, and get no answer. I call again around 6:00, and no answer again. I'm pretty pissed by now because I hate when people don't get back, so a few hours later, I send a text message basically saying "Are we still on? Let me know either way". I still haven't heard anything, and while there's still time here (it's 10:00 AM on Sunday), people normally have to arrive at Oktoberfest before lunch, so I'm guessing I've been blown off again.
Anyhow, sorry for the long post, but I wanted to put this in context. Have I done anything wrong? Am I mis-reading her interest, or is she just playing me? I had the feeling I might have been pushy by asking her out every time, but she kept saying yes. I'm expecting to see her tomorrow morning on the way to work, and I plan on telling her I'm pissed. Unless she's got a good explanation, I'll move on. Any advice on what I should do? I seriously dig this chick, and if there's any chance, I want to get with her. Meeting women out here is much tougher than it was back home...
Thanks.
