I was on facebook the other day and came across a chick I knew from way back –she was a hottie that used to catch the same bus as me. We shared a few ‘moments’ together but I never really talked to her. I’m pretty sure she’d remember me as a nerdy introverted kind of guy who had a crush on her but was too nervous to do anything about it. Anyways, I just added her on facebook without sending her any message. The following exchange followed:

HB: hey do i know you from some where?

Me: Does one truly know anyone?
haha yeah you know me... kind of... but you have to guess where from!

HB: haha i have no idea.... how about u tell me?

This is kind of my sticking point. I’ve got no idea where to go from here… I’m thinking I should say something to keep her intrigued –cos I think if I just came out and said ‘yeah… you used to catch the same bus as me…’ the interaction would be over. And I don’t want to string her along too much cos she might loose interest….

What sort of things would you guys reply with?



How bout something like ‘Hmm.. I’ll give you a clue.. think back to the old school days.. I used to be a bit different back then tho’.

I’d like to ‘flip it’ somehow to get her to chase me at this point –maybe by starting a points game –minus one point for this, plus one for that –but I’ve got nothing really to go on…

Any advice appreciated.

Well, myb if you were too much of an AFC when u met her on the bus, myb you dont want her to remember that, and asociate yourself with that shy guy.
Instead, I'd go with the past life routine i ran a couple of times.
Saying something like:
YOU: "You believe in past life? Because that's how we met, lots of years ago"
HB: "yes i believe/ no i dont believe in it"

She will still be interested in whatever you have to say about that past life encounter, wether she believes in it or not.

From there, it's pretty much your choice, you can say something funny that suposedly happened, or something romantic, or something like that, and at the end ask "Do you remember now?"
If she says yes, thats a massive IOI i think, because she is playing along, and shows interest.
You can pretty much take it from there, you have her.
Thats what I'd do.
Still, its an advice that comes from another AFC, but it doesnt hurt trying right?
And remember that theres no failure, only experience obtained

yeah, dont tell her you took the same bus. she'll think its lame and desperate, even more so if she realises that you were the guy sitting in awkward silence.

i like the other guy's idea of a past life encounter but i've never tried it so i cant say whether it'll work or not. it'll either be a bit weird to her or she'll find it pretty interesting.

if you've seen her somewhere in a social place (bar, party etc) then you could say you met briefly there after making her guess a bit and giving her clues. then you can bust on her for not remembering you.

Make her guess (as previously said) and simply don't give in too easily. Just start multi-threading once you have something interesting to say and if she routes back to it think of somewhere cool you had seen her before.

I like the sound of the past life routine. But the problem is that the only place I've sen her before is on the bus so I've really got no situations I can tell her about. I'm not sure if this was what you meant in your post imagination but I was thinking of maybe making up a situation that 'apparently' occured between us and then busting on her when she says she remembers/doesn't remember the incident? and then telling her the way we actually met after a few more exchanges?

Exactly. Im sorry, I should have explained that past life thing a little.
It basically consists of you meeting her, in another thime, another circumstances, inside another body.
I think it was Indians who believed in this, that you lived several lives in different bodies each time you perished, but thats not important, at least for her, unless shes a bookworm and enjoys this kinda thing, which I doubt.
The real importance here, is that its a very original comment, girls never heard that line before, I can assure you, unless they had an Indian boyfriend.
It worked everytime on me, but remember that ou must think in the details.
Where you met her? Who you where and who was she? What happened?
Be creative, but dont overdo it, both of you know its a lie
