OK - so broke up with LTR about a month ago and have read The Game and joined the gym, also read some things on here and seen some youtube vids, so I know the very basics IMO.

On Saturday went into town with friends and to a club but I totally struck out - couldn't approach anything and totally blew it. Obv AA is one thing but I have reasonable confidence levels normally - found it difficult in club envoronment though.

I think there are a number of problems, so of which i can easily solve and some of which I can't.

1) Drink - I was too drunk to really know what was going on. Didn;t drink to calm nerves, but because my buddies were drinking. I think I need to cut thias out a bit

2) In a club where everybody is dancing how do I open girls. For a start the music is deafeneing, secondly, they're dancing around all over the place. Should I have been looking for the ones that were sat down, or maybe done more opening in pubs/bars pre club?

3) Since I got out of LTR I feel like Maverick after Goose dies in Topgun - that stage where he can't engage any bogeys. I'm not sure if I'm making an excuse for myself and really I need to grow some balls, but that's how I feel.

If anybody has had something similar or has any advice/words of wisdom I'd love to hear them. I feel a bit low as I get the theory of MM etc but failed miserably to engage and put it into practise.

Hey man, these are all good questions. First of all I just realized this weekend that the drinking will have to be cut back if im going out to sarge. It just doesn't mix, you can drink a little but once you start getting drunk to where people can notice it, people won't take you to serious unless the girl your talking to is buzzin too. As far as the dancing girls and approaching the girls this is the hardest part of being a PUA. This is the art you will have to master to actually meet girls. There are TONS of tips on this website just read them from the being on the dance floor and make it so a girl bumps into you and you give her a cocky funny remark such as "hey don't touch me! " to just open her up while being playful but smartassish. Its all about confience and how you carry your self. So for the feelings you have about your LTR, its a normal feeling the one thing that will make you feel better is meeting NEW woman. It will make you lose that feeling of emptiness faster then you could ever imagine. So your right grow those balls and get out there and sarge. You will enjoy it. Don't give up it takes time. I was in a 4 year relationship and it ended a few months ago. It's tough at first, but when you get out there, you have fun, meet new people, and forget about the memories you had.

I just joined this week and started reading material for PUA. I tried some of the tips i read on here out in the field at a club this past weekend. One opener that seemed to work pretty well was this:

I made sure I selected girls that were dancing with one another. Once I made eye contact with them (one girl from the group) I approaced immediately. I said "Hey, I have a question to ask you. I was talking to my friend and he thinks you are all dancing together because it is girl time. I told him no, it's not girl time, it's becuase the guys are too afratid to ask them to dance. So tell me, which one is it?"

She said no guy has come up to ask her to dance, so I asked her is she wanted too. She said yes, and we danced and talked for a bit.

It felt empowering to use something I read about and actually have it work. I am nowhere near being a beginner, but practice makes perfect.

I use to go out, drink, and compliment how they look, which I know now, tends to scare them off.

Also, lay off the alcohol. Have a bit, but not a lot. Don't think too much, just do. That is what the 3 second rule is for. Best of luck to you man....
