I found this in a book of conversation excercises for english language classes and adapted it. I used it on two girls last night and they loved it, especially comparing their answers.

You tell the HB she is going to tell you a story and it will go like this:

She finds herself in a forest. Moving through the forest she comes to a body of water. She crosses over the body of water and discovers a key, she then comes to a barrier.

You get her to describe each part and ask her lots of questions "Is this forest friendly? Is it summer?" "Is the water a river, pond or lake?" Is it clear? Warm? How do you cross it?"

After doing this you explain to her that the forest represents life and her attitude to it. The body of water represents her feelings towards love, relationships and sex*. The key is material aspirations: money, work status. And the barrier represents death. By barrier this can be anything. A wall, a mountain range, a thick wall of trees. While running the routine (before telling her it's about death) be sure to ask her what she can see on the other side and whether she can pass through.

It's very easy to take what she's told you and talk about her personality from that.
The girl last night described a thick, green forest. So I said something like your life is vibrant and full of good things. It was better than that but I don't remember exactly.
The water was a narrow clear river that flowed fast which she jumped over. So I said she probably has no problem leaving a relationship that is n't working for her, she can just skip over it. But the fact it was a clean river shows it is something important to her. She was really receptive to that.
Her key was a gold antique. So I said you value money but not like all the shallow girls out there. Her barrier was a wall and on the other side was an old empty castle. I don't remember quite what I said but by this point she was sold.
As her friend hadn't been listening I could also run the routine on her and they really enjoyed comparing answers and me postulating theories on what it might mean. Got her number but no kiss close. This is Japan.

*The textbook says sex. First time I used it on a girl I said sex and she went very cold after that. Last night I prefaced with "Love, romance etc." and they were much more receptive.
