I was shopping yesterday with a friend who just broke up with his gf. There were surprisingly few HBs around. I needed to buy some new shoes. One of the shops I went into had a cute girl working there. I asked her about shoes and got her to get me the right sizes. I negged her about how she wasn't the right hight for me, and the flood gates opened, she started basically interrogating me and my friend about where we went last night, and what our partying habits were and what we did. I accused her of interrogating me.
Then she said, 'want to hear something exciting? I'm going on a date tonight.'
I want to know what that means? Was she just itching to tell someone about her date? Or does it mean something else? Because I was getting IOIs...
Anyway, I didn't get her number, but I did get her name. So I added her on facebook.

i wouldve used something cocky funny at that point and been like "i never agreed to a date " put her on the spot like that then u coulda flipped it on her and had a date for the night lol

Sure, hindsight is 50/50. You probably could have # closed but there a thousand different outcomes to this game. That's why it's so fun. It's much better to have left on a high note than to have crash and burned and have the hb thinking you're a weirdo and telling her friends the same.(Not that you were in any danger of this)

With all those utube videos and PUA training schools giving this community a competitive flavor, I think too many of us are forgetting why we're doing this. Hey, this is only a competition only against individual selves . . . our emotions and our habits. There is no mad race to get a # quick, k close right away . . . F close within a certain # of dates.

Although I agree with G lantern in that you could have done a hundred different things to hook up with her right away. Noooo problems. I still think your open was a grade A. You met, you actually negged her instead of insulting her, you built enough rapport for her to qualify herself as a "dating individual" and she let you in on her World.

And thank you Kasabi for the in depth analysis. I have no idea how I will get in touch with her again though, hopefully she friends me on facebook. I guess I could go back to the mall... I like the day2 opener. I can see my self doing that and I feel totally comfortable with it. Which is what is important.
