I've been chatting to this HB8 via e-mail and played the question game and got up to a good level of comfort....so I thought I'd try to get her number in a way that was playful and without bluntly saying "whats your number?"

So I tried the following:

Ok eager beaver.... heres your question, lets see how sharp you are...Can you fill in the gaps?

I'll give you a clue - everyone you know has one, but no two are the same...

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Good luck!

No response so the next day I sent her :

Whats up....are you stumped?
I can give you another clue if you like! :)

HB8:
yeah, think you got me here. i don't know! :(
another clue?

me:
Okay another clue....I've filled in a few of the gaps...

(07_ _ _) _ _ _ _ _ _

;)

HB8:
ooooh toughy!
But on a whim, i'm guessing its the start of your mobile number?????
[/i]

Me:
Whoa there girl.....thats pretty forward of you!!! If you want my number you only have to ask for it.....its *********

But please try to limit the number of crazy phone calls to me to one a day! ;)

Whats yours?

She's been online and I'm fairly confident she's read the e-mail but not responded....not really sure how to play it now.....

The actual answer to the game was supposed to be her number, but after she assumed it was my number. I figured I'd try to tease her for it, and make it seem as though she asked for my number..

I'm very new to all this, so would appreciate a critique....

Very good. You've lead the interaction, and tested the boundries. However, don't message her again until she responds to your last one. If you do, you'll come off as needy and ruin the work you've done.
