its called bullshitting. i'm going to completely make this up:
You: You're in front of an ocean. what do you do?
Her: uh...i dont really know

i guess..i guess i walk along the sand, letting it squidge between my toes and just feel the breeze against me.
You: uh oh...
Her: what?
You: well walking along the sand is great, but it betrays feelings of insecurity - suggesting that you walk along the fence on a lot of important decisions in your life, not really decided which one to take. Also, the squidging of the sand between your toes is an indicator that you need reassurance - but in a good way (throw in this positive) - you seek reassurance from the people who matter, close friends and family. It's ok, I enjoy squiding my toes into the sand too (smile - another positive).
You: You're in front of an ocean. what do you do?
Her: uh...i guess I rip off my clothes and jump in, crashing into the waves and letting them crash into me!
You: well obviously you're a crazy but confident nymphomaniac who has purpose and vision in her life and goes for what she wants (smile).
What you say matters less than how you say it. Even if she's majored in psychology and disagrees with your answer, this will provide material for discussion. have a little debate if she disagrees.
