Been gaming a girl for a short period- long and short of it is that we met while at uni, kept in contact and we've been texting each other for a little while now.

My issue is this: while we were "friendly", i.e. friends through friends, she is showing resistance when I suggest that we meet in London- this means a long journey for her.

My concern with straight up asking her is that she will assume that I only have an interest in sleeping with her, hence why I'm asking her.

With that in mind, the two options I see are
a) Increasing the attraction through texts and phone calls to get her to willingly come down and stay with me for a weekend or something, or;
b) Use something else as an excuse to drag her down that will allow her to stay over for a weekend

Any ideas on which option I should take (and how to do it?!)

Ive had some experience getting a girl to come a couple hours to see me. What really did it for me was I had something to do that she liked, like tickets to a concert/museum etc or I have a big weekend planned which would require a two day thing. like a ball game of some sort one night and something else of interest early the next day, but not too early. But the few times I've done that, I actually ended up with free/extra tickets to things that I didnt want to waste and didnt really care if she came or not cause I'd just get someone else. So Id say have a seperate reason for her to come down, and that way even if she isnt interested, you can call another up.

So remember something that she has a strong interest in, mention it to her however you think would work for ya, and see if she'd like to accompany you. At the least, remembering an interest of hers from a past conversation would help with the appearance of just wanting sex (if thats even the case), at least in my part of the world. Almost like fishing!
