Hey, I am still really new here but last night I had a revelation at the bar. I had been hanging out with some friends and they ended up going somewhere I didnt want to go, so I stepped into the nearest bar. This place is kind of a college place so pretty much everyone there is with a group.

I walked in and grabbed a beer and found a table full of guys, with a couple girls hanging around the edges. There were some seats open and they were in view of the tv's so I sat down and said 'Im not trying to bust up your party, I just need a place to sit and drink my beer.' Of course the guys were totally cool with this. At this point I made a little mundane sports chat with the guys and one of the girls came and sat across from me (she was obviously with the guy next to her). I negged her pretty hard but dont remember what it was (sorry), and then she asked my name and laughed at it all.

I found out she lived in San Antonio and her bf lives in Houston. After a bit longer she told me that she liked being a few hours away from him b/c of the freedom it gave her. I told her about my trip to Austin for the 4th and she insisted we get together, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER BOYFRIEND!

Anyways, after that we started talking about going tubing during the 4th and I told her a DHV story about a time I saved a guy from drowning while tubing. I did a bit of kino with her and some NLP gestures during the story, then she totally started responding and putting her hand on my arm and leaning in towards me, hair flip, everything.

I told her I had to go and said that I would see her soon, told all the guys goodbye and I was out. I was amazed!!!

Awesome man, that's how it's done! You were probably pretty relaxed because you were just sitting beside some guys talking sports and watching tv, so it was easy for you to be cool and not think about results from talking to the girl. This is generally when you're gonna have your best successes, because people can see that you're not trying to get anything from them, you're just a good guy, out meeting some people and they realise that, so they want to see you again.

Thanks for the props on that! That whole event definitely helped my confidence, and I think at this point anything that does that has got to be good. I guess the biggest thing now is just working on my approach anxiety when it comes to hb8's and above. If I am in a situation where the introduction happens easily I am in like Flynn. However, if I have to make a cold approach, I get butterflies.

Any advice is appreciated

Could someone describe the NLP gestures thing a bit? Like what did you do exactly?

She was gesturing like it was her man and then I said something casually in conversation and referred to him as her boyfriend and she confirmed in a way I cant remember.

I think a big part of that whole thing was that I hooked up with a girl earlier in the day that I had my eye on awhile. I think confidence builds confidence for sure
