| If there is already something going on between you and this girl, i wouldnt worry to much. Tbh, play it cool with him. Become his friend but make sure YOU are his leader (simple things, suggest what to do etc etc). that way, he will be looking for YOUR approval and if you already have control of this group then he will look to you to give HIM value. This does a few things, by helping him up his status (this should be done in front of every1, find something he is good at and make sure you tell the girls in your group about his talent with him there). By doing this, it makes him happy with you (hell, u just made him look good) and second it makes you very alpha because you are confident enough to help him out, ur just that confident he isnt a threat.
However, make it very clear that your girl is YOURS. Simple ways of using body langue to stand between them (not obviously, but u should know what i mean).
Unless he is a compleate arse, he should go after the girl u are with if u are a) his friend and b) helping him out with women and c) your his leader. Tbh, if he does, u have the social proof to make him seem like a idiot to all the girls therefore you might lose 1, but u prevent him from getting any. Assuming that has to happen, once the girl u like realises her friends arnt keen on her actions for going behind ur back, and dont like him, she will soon chuck him out.
Might not be perfect for your situation, although its what i would do.
