text messaging concern

Hey guys. We all know how women love phones and text messaging like it's their best friend and they're nothing without it. Well, what would be the proper way to tell a woman to quit texting me? In all honesty, I don't mind the text..what I mind are the insane charges associated with texts. I'm in college and pay my own way, 100%. I just can't afford to text. But, maybe I shouldn't tell a woman the truth? Might make her think i can't take care of myself or that i'm not a very good provider. I don't like the idea of ever displaying any negative features about myself, no matter the circumstance.
