Hey everyone.

I've ran into some trouble on how to respond lately to the immature, sarcastic type of guy that likes to mock you while or after you're done speaking.

Example. If I say something such as "Damn, I absolutely LOVE apples. They're definitely my favorite fruit." The other guy would say something in a sarcastic tone such as "Oh my god, I totally love apples, they're my favorite fruit, oh my god" in that mocking sort of tone.

I've normally been trying to play it off cool with "Oh, I'm sorry, didn't know I couldn't have a conversation without your permission. I'll be sure to ask before I speak next time."

Is this a good line? Any other suggestions or comebacks?

other then that maybe dont talk about apples

side note if hes talking like that to you then maybe your not projecting that you're alpha enough

I honestly cant think of anything rational to say other than ignoring them.

Your doing better than me, I would punch them in their fucking mouth but thats just me.

I'll try reading up on projecting the alpha trait. I don't want to actually harm him though because he's actually one of my friends and just acts immature sometimes.

Ignore him, or do it back to him when he forgets to mock you and says something of his own. Say something like, "Wow, mr originality, glad to see you think for yourself...o wait i have you mistaken for someone whos mature."

Dont address him directly, mention to other people how lame, creepy, immature, wierd, etc it is. Dont hang out with him, think of it as a take-away/freeze out.

My brother does the best mock, he will say like the first few words in your sentance in the normal mocking tone, then just break off saying, "Meh meh meh meh meh..." hands up plams faceing straight up in a really high pitched tone...kinda like the scientist from seaseme street.

In anycase try those things out.

Yeah... I say either ignore him... or... keep a straight face, don't react, and say "yeah, I do... so anyway... "(go on with whatever you were going to say before he mocked you, and kind of brush off the fact he just mocked you. Be unaffected, and it makes him look like a bafoon).

Ok, I'll say this. Usually, I'm in a pretty crazy mood. And if an asshole did this to me, here's how I would probably react:

My eyes would widen and I would get this look of extreme joy on my face. I would turn to him and say, "Oh my God! You too? Wow, we have so much in common... let's be BEST FRIENDS! Can I get your number bro? We could throw an apple party... and paint our cars apple red.... wow you're so cool man... I'll bet you like them better than me... wait... I can't even talk to you now, you love apples even more than me. You've totally outshined me bro. You're just too powerful. Too powerful. Whew.... somebody open a window, it's hot, this guy's just TOO POWERFUL".

(this I sort of made up from watching Tyler D's "Foundations" dvd set, around 3:30 on DVD 3 he talks about reactions, frame reversals, and ways to respond when you're thrown congruence tests, etc.)


Yeah, it may be too reactionary, but I'm thinking you pretty much belittle his ass with this.

i would just stare him down. look him in the eye with a straight face and just dont let up for a while. may take some time but it shows you wont take any shit from him.
either that or look at him for a few seconds and say "...you done?"

If he's one of your friends why not just take him aside and talk to him. Explain that you don't appreciate it when he mocks you.
