what?

i'm having difficulty with how to begin a first meeting. i'd like some advice for the following situations:

1. what to do when you meet someone for the first time (ie. you've met them on the internet and talked to them there, but this is the first time you've seen them in person).

2. you met them out somewhere, got the digits, and scheduled a date.

should the meeting be different in these situations? my main question is about physical contact. my instinct is to give a hug, but i've tried this a couple times and had a strange vibe (i live in japan and people here don't hug)

i want the girl to be accustomed to me touching her right from the first minute. what do you do?

also, whats a good conversational way to start the interaction?

Hmm.. tricky -I would have said hug as well but yeah, thats out. Where are you thinking of meeting them? Maybe if you meet them somewhere so you have to lead them to where ever you're going -you can then guide them by putting your hand on their back or you could take her by the hand..? I dunno I'm just throwing these out there..

good look man. yeah, i usually meet girls at a train station and then take them to the venue. a leading arm around the shoulders would be good for that situation.

i'd still like to have something to do right from the door though. i don't wanna look like i'm rushing them off right away. something to do during the 2-3 minutes we're standing there talking before we start walking:)
