Hey Guys,

This has happened to me before and it also happened to me again last night.

There were two specific incidences to which I didn't really know how to respond:

1). My mate 'Mr. x' was with a group of girls and I went up to the group and started talking to my mate ignoring the girls. HB: 'Hey Mr. x's friend -whats ur name?'

For this I just introduced myself (reward for IOI). But I wasn't sure how to really follow up. I wasn't especially interested in her either tho.

2). Again similar situation, my mate was with a group of girls and again I went up and started talking to him ignoring the girls. HB: (To Mr. x) 'So... Mr. x, who's your friend here.'

For this my mate said something along the lines of 'This is my inter-racial life patner' (I'm from another country origionally).

Again wasn't sure how to follow up.

How would you guys handle the above situations? I got the feeling that I needed to say something really out there for them to remain interested, but I can't think of anything...

Got the exact same problem. Two nights ago, a girl opened me by introducing herself. She was HB7, but I wasn't really interested. I introduced myself too, but didn't know how to react. There was a friend of mine in between us, and she just opened me while I was busy talking to someone else. Normally, I can come up with something really quick most of the time, but aren't there like any fast (hate to say it) "standard" follow-up lines?

Cheers Okiokdan. Ok I've been thinking about this a bit more. So I wouldn't give her a neg, and I wouldn't use a time constraint (cos they're not required in this situation). Should I give her a false disqualifyer and then go into attraction? What do you reckon?

Or

I know that this isn't a disqualifyer but maybe if I said something like, 'damn, you're so forward girl... I mean like we haven't even been introduced properly yet'. And then talk about how girls are sexual predators or w /e.

Need some feedback. Thanks in advance.

Whoa, you'll are really over thinking this. Anytime someone ask me my name I tell them my full name (Include the last name, it's big for comfort when you are making out and she says she doesn't even know your last name, etc etc) and then ask them theirs.

If you want to be playful you can say something like "Tom Cruise" and call her "Nicole" but if you are evasive for too long they'll lose interest. I'd just tell them, get their's and move on to A2. DHV, maybe tell a story about a nickname you have etc etc.

Idea's popping into my head already on the nickname part! Thanks :)

If you are not interested, then there is no real reason to worry about a follow up. Keep a generic conversation going, no harm in that.

I would have gone with a humor type response, something like 'yeah, but as you can tell, i'm the guy, he's the b*tch'...then laugh it off.
