The most important thing you want to make sure of is that you get the basics down so that you don't need to rely on anything to stand on your own. Think of it like a piano player who can play phenominally with sheet music (material) but once the sheet music is gone the person doesn't know the fundamentals (pickup theory) to compose on their own and can't play to save their life.

You may want to also figure out which method is right for you; there is no right method for everyone. Mystery Method is great for bar and club but if you plan to do more PU in day to day life it's best to go with a more natural method that emphasises undersanding of alpha behavior and the mechanics of attraction.

Some excellent books I highly recommend are are Double Your Dating by David DeAngelo, Secrets of the Alpha Male and The Dating Black Book by Carlos Xuma, Without Embarrassment and She's Yours For The Taking by Mike Pilinski and Real World Seduction by Swinggcat or my How To Be Alpha - Any of these will help give you an excellent foundation and bring you to seduction mastery.
