Ok, straight into it, i have a problem opening sets.
It's not AA, quite the opposite. I come in feeling like a king and half the time the set assumes that instead of being the well socially rounded great guy, i'm the arogant jerk. I've been C&F all my life, but as soon as i start it with a 2set it backfires. It's like they miss the humour in what i'm saying.
The usual answer is that i am not being funny enough. But, i've asked my female friends whether they think they statements/lines that i used on failed set are funny and they said 'yes' unequivocally. (E.g. i was out shopping for an indiana jones costume at a Kmart and the girl helping me suggested that i needed a whip. I said something like: "you didn't strike me as the type for whips" with big grin on my face and she seemed genuinely offended)

Background (perrhaps it will be useful, it can't hurt):I'm just a young'un out in australia and very new to the scene. Got into The Game from a net buddy of mine. I've read through very beginner type ebooks such as Mystery Method and Double Your Dating.
I'm tall (6'4) but so lanky i feel slightly self conscious.

It's good that you are being light hearted. Tall guys tend to be more intimidating to a woman so your doing the right thing acting in a lighthearted manner.

If you are successful with one woman but not two It sounds like it has very little to do with your c/f and more to do with how your handling the set. How are you handling these two sets? Are you engaging both girls, just the target or ignoring the target?

Treating them similarly. I'm fun and interesting towards both, but i play it like there is an on going joke between me and the obstacle that the target is a dork. I walk in with the idea that they're already somewhat familiar with me.
