This isnt really a question at all. It is simply something that happened to me yesterday and I thought I'd share with all of you.

Yesterday I was at a Starbucks in Santa Row (which from talking to a few PUA's in my area, its one of their favorite places to go sarging), and while me and my buddy were drinking our coffee, this dude comes up to us and starts making small talk with my friend.

About two minutes into the guy talking to my friend, I could tell he was running what apeared to be game out of a book. There were however a few thing that either he did wrong, or showed he wasn't running game and it just looked like it. He didnt use a time constraint and after his opener and follow up he went into interview mode. By the time he tried to move the conversation towards me, I just wanted to get back to the conversation with my friend. After he stopped talking to us, he moved towards another part of the starbucks, and opened up a couple. A few minutes later, me and my friend left the starbucks, so we didnt see what happened after that.

My friend told me that before he aproached, he kept looking at me. At the moment we were talking about my upcoming show (im a promoter), so he might have just been trying to get info on my company or something. I couldnt really tell if he was some type of salesman, or If he was a gay PUA or something. Either way, it seemed like he was running game. He open the obstacle (my friend) with a statement, he quickly changed the thread, he used a DHV story, but then he fucked up by going into interview mode.

Wether he was a salesman or a gay PUA, he was doomed to begin with. I wasnt looking to buy anything ( I had like 30 bucks on me i think) and I am very much into girls. Either way, it was interesting to see things from the other side of the aproach. I saw what a target usually sees, and I noticed how important a fake time constraint is, because the whole time I was just thinking "Is this guys gonna be on us till we leave?".

Right before we left, I was tempted to ask him if he was part of the community, but I decided not to. All in all, it was an interesting, and actually a very infoprmative experience.

That is a really wild and insightful post! As many stories as I've heard (I have heard a lot) I haven't heard an insight into a male-on-male pick-up interaction.

The one thing that I thought of while reading that is that if he was trying to pick you up he would run seduction DHVs which wouldn't really apply to selling you something.

When I was started out I had MAJOR approach anxiety from years of self-esteem beatings so I would approach guys initially to feel comfortable so that could have been what he was up to. all of us who are now good or even masterful in attracting women started out just like this guy and probably far worse.

As a note to all aspiring PUAs out there: take note just much these two guys noticed about this man's demeanor and interaction because (in terms of attention to detail) a woman will notice 100 times more.
