every Saturday night I go to this place near the beach. It's a street where people hang out and shop. This weekend I had a strange experience. I go there and this guy comes up to me and asks "excuse me, blue or red?" I am like "blue" then I think WTF? ok whatever.

Then some time later I am walking around this group of guys come up to me and one of them ask me "excuse me, do you have the time?" My instinct told me he is not really looking for the time. I don't know if it's his tone of voice or body language or the fear of rejection that I sensed in him but I knew he is not really asking for the time. besides, these days everybody has a cell phone, nobody asks for the time. is he trying to rob me? hmmm WTF.

then minutes later this other guy comes up to me an asks "excuse me, do you know where the bathroom is?" Again, I don't know if it's based on his voice or body language or what, but I knew he wasn't really looking for the bathroom. I knew it.

This other guy comes up to me and says "hey, how you doing?"

I am like every other week people here never talk to me, WTF is going on?

Then some time later, I see all these guys in a group and a guy is telling them "ok, good job guys"

so are these pick up groups that teach guys how to talk to strangers? Do these really work? because I think they are extremely lame. If anything, they probably make the guy's condition worse. But good way to rip naive people off. hmmm perhaps I should start one of these "boot camps"

Thats funny, its unlikely it was students approaching you.

every coaches i know tell guys to approach women. maybe you had a string of strange luck where guys keep approaching you?

does sound like some common functional openers. maybe you are just too deep in the rabbit hole and you think guys are approaching you.

i wouldnt give it too much thought.
