Although there is some evidence that suggests that many repetitions could induce some extra muscle capillarity, they will do nothing to make the muscle look harder or more defined. If a completely sedentary person starts weightlifting using few or many repetitions, he or she will experience a rapid increase in tone, the degree of contraction that the muscle maintains even when relaxed, but this will happen irrespective of the range of repetitions.
