Don’t pull the tape excessive tight, it should just be snug. Write everything down and keep track of all the numbers to watch your progress over time. Try to avoid exercise before the measurement process as strenuous activity can cause blood to pool in the muscle (i.e. the “pump” you experience) and appear larger than normal. Measure BOTH sides of the body to determine dominance and work to correct the deficit.
