This might sound silly but I think I might have the male version of "resting bitch face" where I constantly look angry or pissed off. (Great while waiting to be served as they seem to try and speed up when they see me waiting, not so great when trying to look approachable) While trying to approach or even hold eye contact, I do try to smile and look relaxed, but feel that I sometimes have trouble doing so. Anyone else have this problem? Any way to fix it? Just seem to look luke a grumpy bastard all the time. No matter the mood I'm in! Thanks

Be you. You don't have to smile when you first make eye contact or at any other time if it's not natural.

Your approachable or nonapproachable facial expression doesn't matter once you start talking to and vibing with the girl anyway.

Your brain is providing you with this 'crutch' so you overthink things and have an excuse to not approach. Tell that little voice to fuck right off and go approach some women.

I have kind or similar the same face man and I have never had any problem approaching girls, believe a lot of girls look for that kind of expression.

As I respect both of your opinions, thought I'd ask this here and see where it gets me... I have one dimple (lol) and pretty much fucking lack the ability to fake a smile, so unless I'm laughing, I can't smile in pictures. I literally have a picture of me and my Mother at a family wedding and she's smiling but I just look miserable. Do I just force an ugly af fake smile, or deal with the moody expression and constant "just smile" from people?

Thanks JD my opinion is that it's got to be natural. If something causes you to smile naturally, smile. If you don't feel like smiling, don't do it. Take the natural route at all times and you can't go wrong. If someone says, "why so serious, just smile!" I'd either ignore or shrug my shoulders like whatevs.

Thanks for advice guys. It does seem that I've been overthinking things so will try not let it bother me.

I'm the same in pictures JD. What I do is try and thing of something that will make me laugh. Helps a bit tbh. Otherwise, I'm just like Chandler in Friends when he's trying to take the wedding photo.

Maybe you're depressed.... are you happy with life?

Wouldn't say I'm depressed and I'm generally happy with life. Of course there's some things I would change but they are things I'm currently working on. I enjoy my job, do things during the week and socialise with friends on weekends.

Just have a facial expression of a grumpy old man.
