It happens quite often, I will be going back and forth with a girl and she will come up with something that sounds like a shit test basically asking me if I like her and I'm never sure if I should brush it off or give her some validation.

Example that happened earlier this week, talking with a girl about a french singer we both like :

Her : Oh I like this singer, he's the love of my life

Me : I probably like him more than you

Her : Do you mean you prefer him over me?

Her : Or do you think you like him more than I do?

Me : Both

Her : Ok


Conversation kinda went cold after this. I was being playful obviously but is it the kind of situation where you need to try to find an answer that says ''I obviously like you'' without literally having to jump through her hoops? Was I too blunt?

What you guys were doing is called banter. You just didn't do it correctly because she was seeking validation at the same time. Learn how to flirt with women and this wouldn't have happened.

I figured she was seeking validation, but I've been really going after her in the past weeks and I know she knows I'm into her and did not want to reinforce it too much. Like you said I probably didn't do it correctly but I'm wondering what would've been a better answer. She already knows I fancy her.
