Hi all,

I'm new here. I met a girl at a local networking event where she was working at her booth and I was working at my booth next to her. We seemed to have a fun time and she exchanged her business card with me. She left at the end of the event before I could get her number. She later added me on LinkedIn though.

I messaged her asking when we're going to throw an event together (we had talked about throwing a joint event at the networking event we were at) hoping to get her out for coffee and then ask her on a real date after that. However, she asked if we could do a phone call to talk about events Friday morning.

What do you guys think I should do next? I was thinking of messaging something along the lines of "Phone calls are for chumps. Let's do coffee, I need to find an excuse to get out of the office anyways." However, that might be too much?

Thanks in advance :)

"Phone calls are so impersonal. Let's do coffee, I need to find an excuse to get out of the office anyways." "Shoot me your number so we can set something up."

I'll just say if you're planning on really throwing this event because of its own merits go ahead, meet for coffee or whatever. My thing is don't get her to go out with you for business then spring on her that this was just an excuse to ask on a date. You don't want to be the guy that your colleagues see as the guy who has no intention of networking or business
