| I suggest watching movies of good actors, to get a feel of how a good conversation happens. I don't mean Ben Affleck-actors, I mean Bogart, Rodney Dangerfield, etc. REAL classic movies. You could listen to speeches (I like MLK, Jr.), as well as watch news achors.
Having material to talk about isn't as important as having the ablity to make any conversation good. If you can talk about the most basic, boring subjects as if they are fascinating, then your convo skills will be top notch (that Seinfield reference was genius, I'm gonna try it).
Reading helps tremendously. In the world today, reading isn't very highly valued, but if you read a lot of diverse material, you'll always have something interesting to add to a conversation. Newspapers, novels, philosophy books- whatever interests you. Soon, you'll have plenty to talk about.
Also, expand your vocabulary. Tossing around one or two unusual words can make you seem eloquent in almost any setting. _________________ -The good can never be measured, but the great can never be controlled-
