Well, I'd like it to be SF anyway.

The short version is that today I realized I could probably organize everything here in crappy Buffalo so that I could move. I never really wanted to live here, so now I'm thinking it's time to make that leap.

Last summer I visited SF and kinda loved it, even though I didn't have time to do much. Plus it's pretty much the center of tech right now, and I hear that polyamory is fairly common and for some reason I have the idea there's there's a more free sexual culture even aside from that.

So anyone familiar with SF feel free to correct me on my assumptions or tell me more about it. But the real reason for this post...

Rent is fucking absolutely fucking insane out there! I own a duplex here and even if I rented both units out at the highest rent I could get, it wouldn't cover an average apartment out there. :(

So... I'm basically asking if there's something I'm not seeing. Cheaper places, or maybe some suburbs are reasonable in which case what's the best suburb for being able to get into the city and game or even just have fun?

Or should I give up on SF and try to find another city?

San Francisco is very expensive. I used to live there and loved it, but it's not easy finding a cheap place. Best bet is too look around the listings and pounce on any good deals. You can look around somewhere in Bay Area and find something that is within an hour from the city that might be cheaper.
